Top 5 Washington D.C. Photo Sites
For those Insta worthy photos!
I’ve been shooting in the DC area for 3 years now! I can’t believe it! And through the years, I have totally fallen in love with this area. With each passing season the locations change in looks, but these classic & stunning locations will for sure make for a winning backdrop!

#1. The Reflection Pool
Ah, the iconic Washington DC photograph. No matter how many times I have shot there, it always takes my breath away. It amazes me that we are even allowed to shoot sessions here! The absolute best time for portraits here, sunrise! So become an early bird for your session here.
#2. Capitol Hill
I said it once, I’ll say it again. SUNRISE! This place gets packed, but its the ultimate patriotic background and it’s a truly phenomenal backdrop for any session. The columns, and the view of the city from this spot is gold!
#3. The Jefferson Memorial
There’s something about the light and the columns that make any session here look perfect. It’s a top crowd pleaser! Like any place in the National Mall, it gets packed with tourist and parking is a mess, but it’s so worth it.
#4. Navy Yard
This is a gem. I’ve found myself mainly shooting here in the winter months, but man the light here is EVERYTHING! It’s got water, a pretty cool bridge and the most amazing urban landscape.
#5. Georgetown
Probably the best off season and early morning place to shoot. It’s also a bonus that I can get a cupcake after a session there. In all seriousness, the view of Virginia across the water & the canal, you would never guess these are within walking distance from each other.
Truly, there are so many location in DC to get amazing photographs! Thats the reason the DC Adventure Package came to be. So that we don’t have to just pick one!
